How to Get More Leads for Your Business ... Dirt Cheap!

Most businessmen tell us they want to grow their business, which means they need new sales, clients and customers every month. Usually they subscribe to a number of services to attract new leads such as Yellow Page ads, billboards, Val-paks, media buys and so on.

Some of these advertising vehicles work and some don't. It's all comes down to the economics and cost effectiveness of an ad media to see whether it's worthwhile or not. I'm a firm believer, like Dan Kennedy, that you should use a mixture of different lead generation methods for your business, as long as they are each profitable, so that if any one of them is taken away for any reason whatsoever, you can still survive because you aren't WHOLLY dependent on that one source.

Whether a lead generation system is profitable for you or not also comes down to time and management skill. Most people just don't have the time or skills to manage both their marketing AND their business. It's their business that they love, not the marketing aspect. If they cannot afford to spend time on their leads funnel, they aren't maximizing the number of customers and sales they could possibly have with their business.

Sales come from leads, and leads come from referral, prospecting and lead generation systems. What you want to have for managing these lead generation systems is a type of "set it -- forget it -- work it" system.

So I have a suggestion for you -- seek out the pay-for-leads programs that are out there, subscribe, give them a try, and if they work then fly with them. That's often a better solution than just paying for ads that might bring in no new leads -- and thus customers -- at all.

Think about the pay for performance situations I'm recommending here. Wouldn't it be great if you only paid for leads you got rather than for expensive ads or marketing campaigns that always have the risk of pulling nothing? Those systems are absolutely available. I work with them all the time, especially if you use the internet.

One individual I know who sets up these automatic lead grabbing systems for all sorts of clients is The Leads King, Bob Regnerus. Sometimes I even partner with him on leads projects because of our mesh of skills. Bob sets up lead generation systems, both online and offline, for almost every type of business situation ... you name it. If you want more sales, they only come from better conversions and more leads. For the leads aspect of this equation, talk to Bob because he'll help you with the leads AND conversions as well (for FREE!).

Now how do you evaluate an automatic leads generation system like this, where you are only paying for leads and ONLY leads. All you need to do is determine your present lead cost (just look at your marketing budget, add up everything you're paying to get NEW customers, divide it by the number of leads that cam in and there's your number). Then TEST the system and see what the cost of leads are versus what you are already use (and don't forget to compare conversions rates, too).

There's really no risk other than the risk of a test, which you should do anyway with every new media that becomes available. Buy a bunch of leads, see if they convert (if you make money), and if so, add it to your marketing funnel.

What you're looking for are automated systems whose combination of lead cost, lead quality, and your ability to consistently convert a percentage of the leads into new customers becomes a winning combination. Whether it's Yellow Pages, internet leads, ads or whatever, do as Dan Kennedy says and diversify your marketing funnel by using as many leads systems as possible. Don't bet your business by relying on only one method, system, vendor, supplier.

Sales? Please Remember this equation:

Leads x Conversion Rate = Customers

Notice in the formula above that you cannot increase customers directly because they are a result, not a variable. To increase your customers (clients or patients, however you wish to word it) you must increase either your leads or your conversion rate -- or both.

So give Bob Regnerus, "The Leads King" a call and see what he has to say about your particular situation. Moving forward is done by taking action, so get on your way. If he can't help he's known for sending people to someone who can. He knows both online and offline methods, so start there if you want more leads.
